The devastation caused at the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit by floods that lashed Uttarakhand on June 16, 2013 has served the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India "a good lesson", which it would remember while launching reconstruction drive at these holy places, Dr K Chiranjeevi, Minister of State with Independent Charge for Tourism, Government of India, said. Speaking on the sidelines of the national conference of state tourism ministers and tourism secretaries last week, Dr Chiranjeevi said the Char Dham would be reconstructed in a "much better way", so as to minimise the impact of any similar disaster in future, PTI reported. The Minister said that it was for the Uttarakhand government to decide if tourist flow to the ecologically?fragile region needed to be regulated. ...
