Denard Robinson didn't play in a Michigan Wolverines game for the first time since 2009 yesterday. Head coach Brady Hoke is hopeful his starting quarterback will be back next week.
The Michigan Wolverines continue to have injury issues at the quarterback position. Despite injuries to starter Denard Robinson and back-up Russell Bellomy, wide receiver Devin Gardner led the Wolverines to a 35-13 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Head coach Brady Hoke had thought Denard Robinson would be ready to go against Minnesota but he was ruled out on Friday. Hoke told reporters afterward he was hopeful Robinson would be healthy enough to play against Northwestern next weekend.
After his performance against the Golden Gophers, Devin Gardner has moved into the back-up quarterback slot because of an injury to Russell Bellomy. Bellomy is also dealing with an injury but Hoke will not disclose what it is. Hoke told reporters after the game he didn't want to discuss why Bellomy is out but when asked to clarify as to whether it's an injury or not, Hoke did so. Kind of.
Most likely. Yes. A boo boo.
Bellomy came into the game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers when Robinson went down with his injury. Bellomy was just 3 of 16 in that game and threw three interceptions.
