Nine-month, tenure-track faculty position housed within the Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs

The Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in College Student Development and Academic Advising.

Responsibilities:
This position involves teaching graduate courses, online and on campus, that focus on college student development and academic advising (learning principles, career development, academic advising courses), advising and mentoring graduate students, conducting scholarly research, seeking external funding, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. In addition, the position may involve teaching research courses and, depending on one?s expertise, may include counseling courses.
Required qualifications
- Earned doctorate in College Student Development, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution (by August 1, 2013);
- Strong potential for excellence in college or university teaching;
- Strong potential for excellence in research and external funding;
- Experience working with diverse populations;
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication;
- Experience integrating technology into the classroom and/or teaching online courses;
- Professional experience related to position responsibilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Established record in college or university teaching;
- Established record in research and external funding;
- Record of involvement in professional associations.
