Elvis' Philosophy For a Happy Life | The Sheila Variations

Elvis and Pat Perry, his hairdresser/friend

Pat Perry, the Beverly Hills hairdresser who ended up going to work for Elvis, says:

?When I started cutting men?s hair, I started cutting some of the guys hair around [Elvis] and he didn?t want to miss out on anything so he says, ?You gotta cut my hair.? That scared me to death. But I did it and he loved it. I traveled with him wherever he went and [cut his hair] whenever he needed it. He kept me around because he liked me. It was fun. He was like my big brother. I wish that everybody would have a chance to share the life of a man like him. One night he wrote down on a piece of paper his philosophy for a happy life for me? I miss him a lot.?
